At Marshall University he has served as Associate Director (1989-1994) and Director (1994-2001) of the Internal Medicine Clerkship, Acting Chief and Chief of the Endocrinology Section (2007-2019), Farrell Professor of Endocrinology (2010-2019) and Chair of the Institutional Review Board. His research interest is in the immunopathogenesis of diabetes, and he has authored articles or participated in studies in this area in the mechanisms of pancreatic islet-cell hormone secretion, effects of nutritional deficiency, therapies for diabetes, effects of hypoglycemia on the heart, and thyroid cancer. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is Board certified in General Internal Medicine and Board certified in Endocrinology. ![]() Henry Driscoll, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at MUSOM and an Attending Physician at Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. She is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the Academy of Master Educators. Her specialized services and interests include adult diabetes, thyroid disorders, thyroid cancer, adrenal diseases, pituitary conditions, and bone metabolic diseases such as osteoporosis. She is certified in Bone Densitometry by ISCD and performs fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodules. Dr.BenHamed is Board certified in General Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at MUSOM and a staff physician at Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Nesreen BenHamed, MD, serves as the Section Chief, Program Director, and the Director of Education for the Endocrinology Department at the Joan C.
